Onboarding Form
For all students selected by an editor or manager of a medium to participate at UA Student Media. This form is payroll and non-payroll staff.
Equipment Rental Process
As a student staff member of any media outlet within UA Student Media, you can check out equipment for department use. Requests should be made at least 24 hours prior to when equipment is needed. To begin this process, follow these steps.
Email Completion and SHELF system
After completing the UA Student Media Onboarding Form, you will receive an email invitation to SHELF, our equipment rental system:
- Complete the email invitation from SHELF that was sent to your crimson email address.
- Once completed, you can view all assets and kits that are available for check-out within the system.
- Once you find an asset or kit you would like to check out, begin the booking process of reserving the equipment.
- Equipment can only be checked out and return during business working days and hours (i.e., Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 4:40 pm).
- Please note that equipment is checked out for one day at a time to ensure that all student staff members have an opportunity to use the equipment. Exceptions do apply and can be discussed at checkout.
- In the Description box, provide a brief explanation of what the equipment will be used for.
- Equipment can only be checked out and return during business working days and hours (i.e., Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 4:40 pm).
Reservation Confirmation
Once you book your reservation of the equipment, you will receive an email from SHELF of the reservation. An email is sent to Student Media as well.
Equipment Rental Agreement
At the beginning of each semester, the first time you reserve and check out equipment, you will be sent an Equipment Sign-out and Agreement form via DocuSign to read through and sign. This will be kept on file for the semester.
Show ID
When picking up the equipment, you will need to show ID.
Pick Up/Return
Our office is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Be sure to pick up and return equipment on the date and time stated in your booking. This ensures that equipment can be checked prior to and when returned so it can be made available for future bookings.
