Student Media Announces New Magazine

UA’s Office of Student Media is excited to announce Druid, a new lifestyle and culture magazine focused on life in Tuscaloosa and beyond. This new magazine examines the art, culture, and social connections of the city that is home to The University of Alabama and the members of its community, state and region.

Druid is excited to recruit members of its inaugural staff for the 2026-2027 academic year. All UA students are welcome to apply. Previous experience in writing, photography and design is a bonus, but all students with interest will be considered. Training will be provided by magazine leaders and the UA Office of Student Media.

Hannah Grace Mayfield has been selected as the inaugural editor-in-chief of Druid and will lead team recruitment and selection. Mayfield has spent the past three years involved in various Student Media outlets, serving as a contributing photographer and photo editor for Alice, as well as a staff photographer and assistant photo editor for The Crimson White. She has also been selected to serve as photo editor of The Crimson White for the 2026-2027 year. A Columbus, Georgia native, she is a member of the Honors College and is in C&IS’ accelerated master’s program.

Interested students can fill out an interest form. For more information, contact the editor-in-chief at editor-in-chief@druidmag.com.
